  • Tax receipts

  • What school supplies does my child need?
    We are pleased to once again offer you the option to make your school supply shopping quick, easy, and cost effective for the 2023-2024 school year. Our Royal Vale Elementary Home & School has teamed up with School Start Inc. to provide this valuable service to our parents. We have verified with the teachers that some items may be substituted in the kit. If you have any questions on this, please feel free to reach out to RVEHSA.president@gmail.com Attached are the the PDFs of the school instructions for labelling school supplies etc and in the same PDF you will find the order form from School Start for reference. Orders are to be made online via the link below, or phone or email . When ordering the school kits through the link below, 10% of the value of your purchase goes back into our Home & School programming and events for the students. SUPPLY LISTS ARE NOW LIVE ON THE SCHOOL START WEBSITE FOR ORDERING Parents can go directly to: https://schoolstart.ca/, and click on the following: - Parents Shop Here - Purchase School Supply Kits - Select Province, then City, then School - Lastly, they click on their grade and proceed from there 2 Delivery Options: - HOME: The supplies will be packaged and delivered directly to your house. If you have a P.O. Box, please use your 911 address. Because the kit (s) are delivered to your home, you will have the ability to: Pre-label your child’s supplies Add supplies to your order for home use or for your child in another school - SCHOOL: The supplies will be packaged and delivered directly to the school in August before your child arrives, labeled with their name on the School Start Package. *Any orders placed after July 31st, will be delivered to your home. *** If school delivery is chosen, please note that the school supplies will be available to pick by August 28th at the school. You will be informed via email a few days in advance what hours you may pick up the kit.   • What are the Equalization dates?
    Throughout the year, ped days and holidays generally land on Mondays and Fridays. This results in schedule imbalances and the school plans EQUALIZATION DAYS to balance out days that were missed. PLEASE NOTE: Equalization days only apply to the regular school day. They do NOT affect afterschool scheduling (Enrichment, Afterschool, Music, PELO, French Language Activities). All afterschool scheduling follows the calendar date.
  • What do I do if my child is absent, late or picked up early?
    Contact the school: Please use Mozaik https://portailparents.ca/accueil/en/ to report and justify all absences. Please also notify your child's teacher (by note or email) as early as possible. Contact Home & School: If a student will not be attending his/her after school activities, it is the parents’/guardians’ responsibility to ALSO inform the Home & School office: RVEHSA.office@gmail.com Music: If a student is missing an after school music lesson, please also notify their music teacher as well as the music chairs: rves.musicprogram@gmail.com and RVEHSA.office@gmail.com
  • What is the daily schedule?

  • How do I sign up for and log into the Mozaik Parent Portal?
    The Mozaik Parent Portal is used by Royal Vale School (not Home & School), for access to report cards, grades, invoicing, and reporting absences. https://portailparents.ca/accueil/en/ . There is also a mobile application, mParent
  • Whom do I contact for what?

  • How do I sign up for PED days?
    Registration for individual days must be done in advance. For the parents/guardians who registered their child in advance, the Home & School will email out a reminder to parents which will include PED day activity info, a registration link and the definitive price for that program. Parents/Guardians will have the option of withdrawing their child without penalty from those PED days within 2 weeks of the announcement. Late registration for PED days is possible. Please contact RVEHSA.office@gmail.com as soon as possible for late registration requests for a PED day. Provided there is space the child will be added to the list, otherwise your child(ren) will be placed on a waiting list. If there is room in the program, there is no admin change fee to add your child’s registration to the PED day program.
  • Are there cafeteria services offered on PED days?
    The school cafeteria is not open on PED days. Students are therefore expected to come to school with a full lunch as well as several snacks to carry them through the day.
  • What is the cost of PED days?
    The cost is estimated at $30-35/ PED day. ​ PED day activities and definitive price for that program will be announced in advance and you will have the option of withdrawing your child with within 2 weeks of the announcement for a refund for the PED day and a charge of an admin fee of $10 per student per request.
  • What are the PED day dates for 2023-2024?
    Dates when programming is offered: Friday, September 15th Friday, November 3rd Friday, November 24th Friday, March 1st Friday, April 26th Friday, May 17th
  • What are the hours of PED day programs?
    RVEHSA offers services from 8 am to 6 pm on PED days.
  • How do I order uniforms?
    Please see the information from Top Marks: Orders must be submitted no later than June 15, 2022 in order to guarantee delivery prior to the start of school.
  • Are there used uniform sales?
    Yes! Home & School organizes several used uniform sales throughout the school year. We charge $2-$4 / item (cash only please) Please consult the 'Events' section for upcoming dates. If you have used uniforms to donate, please leave them (washed and ready) at the main entrance of the school between 8am - 3:35pm Monday to Friday (excluding PED pays)
  • How does the cafeteria work?
    Kindergarten and grade 1 students only: (Beginning Oct. 24, 2022) Pilot project: Parents / Guardians will be able to pre-order and pay for their child’s meal online. The meal will be prepared just before lunch time, packed and delivered to the students. This process will eliminate students need to bring money to school and wait in line to pick up their order. Grades 1-6: Students may bring a lunch or purchase their lunch from the cafeteria. The school will send out an email to announce when the cafeteria services will begin to be offered. Students are supervised by a lunch monitor and depending on their grade, they will eat in their classrooms or in the cafeteria. For those that choose to purchase a lunch, they line up and they may order à la carte off the menu, or take the lunch Meal Deal.
  • Menu and Price list?
    The menu and price will be provide in the beginning weeks of school.
  • How can my child purchase lunch in the cafeteria?
    Kindergarten and Grade 1 only: (Starting October 24th) Please see the attached document for information on how to open an account and place online orders. Orders can be placed as of October 17, 2022 but the service will only begin on October 24, 2022. Grades 1 - 6: As always, your friendly school cafeteria staff is ready to serve you nutritious meals and snacks to keep you energized and ready to learn. Come enjoy our enticing menu choices at very affordable prices. In anticipation of all the lunches to be enjoyed this school year, the EMSB’s Nutrition and Food Services are offering a convenient Pre-Paid Cafeteria Meal Card for your child(ren) to use in the Royal Vale cafeteria. This Meal Card allows students to avoid the need to carry money and shortens their wait time to enjoying a delicious and nutritious meal. A Meal Card is valid for 10 Meal Deals* at a discounted price! *Meal Deal is a complete meal which includes: an entrée, vegetable, soup or dessert of the day & choice of milk, juice or water (330ml) Sample menu below: Le Mini Bistro Le Mini Bistro is the English Montreal School Board’s lunch catering service. Providing delicious meals to your child at school in just a few clicks, this flexible meal service makes planning lunches a little easier. Order pre-paid cafeteria meal cards right on your computer, tablet or smart phone. Order meal cards at: https://leminibistro.emsb.qc.ca/ui/s_public/meal-card.aspx *note: the "High School Meal cards" that is referred to on the website is also used by Royal Vale elementary students. Once purchased, they will be delivered to the main office, which then distributes the meal cards to your child(ren). Reminder Meal cards must be used before the end of the school year. Meal cards are not transferable to the following year. Please note that meal cards are NOT replaceable if lost or stolen.
  • When is the Last day of Before and After School Program?
    The last day of After School Program is June 21, 2023 The last day of Before School School Program is June 22, 2023
  • How do I register for Before and After School Programs?
    Registration Information Registration for our programs is online through Amilia Platform. Children may not attend our programs without completing an online registration form. These forms contain mandatory information that helps us to provide a healthy and safe environment for your child.
  • Which door do I use to drop off my child at the Before School program and to pick up my child from the After School program?
    Royal doors (Somerled and Royal)
  • What are the Before and After School Programs?
    Before School Program (BSP) Students registered for the Before School Program (BSP) will be provided with supervision from 7:00am - 7:45am . After School Program (ASP) Students registered for the After School Program (ASP) will be provided with programming from 2:35pm - 6:00pm. In the After School Program, we respect the children’s needs for fun and recreation after a busy academic day. This program focuses on fun and recreational activities. As well, the program allows for periods of time in which the children can play, unwind and socialize with peers. General activities include daily homework supervision (grades 1 - 6 only), outdoor play, crafts, games, stories, gym activities, etc. ** The Before School Program & After School program are both provided at a flat fee of $9.20 per day. *After School Program is available as of 2:35pm everyday.
  • What are the hours of the PELO Language Program?
    2:35 - 3:40pm twice per week
  • From what door is my child dismissed at the end of the program?
    The program ends at 3:35. If your child is not registered for afterschool, they will be dismissed from the Draper doors at 3:35.
  • What is the PELO Language Program?
    The PELO Language Program is a governement subsidized program offered through the EMSB and Royal Vale School (not Home & School) for grades 1-6. The languages offered for the 2023/2024 school year are: Hebrew, Italian, Spanish Classes are offered twice per week (you must register for both days) The PELO Program runs at the same time as the RVEHSA French Language Activities Program, from 2:35-3:35pm.
  • What is the cost of the PELO program?
    The PELO Program is a government subsidized program. The cost varies each year and is invoiced through the school.
  • How do I register for the PELO program?
    The EMSB and Royal Vale School run this program. Please contact the Royal Vale Elementary Principal and Vice Principal for more information or to register.
  • From what door is my child dismissed at the end of the program?
    The program ends at 3:40. If your child is not registered for afterschool, they will be dismissed from the Draper doors at 3:40.
  • What is the Enrichment Program?
    The Enrichment Program is an optional program for grades 1-6, run between 2:35pm - 3:35pm three days per week. A variety of activities are offered, including sports, cooking, arts and STEM.
  • What is the cost of the Enrichment Program?
    The cost of the Enrichment Program varies according to the activities selected.
  • What are the hours of the Enrichment Program?
    2:35pm - 3:40 pm up to three days per week
  • How do I register for the Enrichment Program?
    Registration for the Enrichment Program is on a first come first served basis, via our Amilia Platform Store. A link will be sent out via e-mail when registration commences.
  • How do I register for music lessons?
    Please contact rvehsa.office@gmail.com, a link will be available and e-mailed to parents for registration. Space in the Music Program is limited and there may be a waiting list.
  • What is the cost of lessons?
    The rate for music lessons in 23/24 school year is $30 / 30-minute lesson. Students enrolled in the Music Program must also be enrolled and attending afterschool on the day of their lesson. They must therefore also pay the cost of afterschool for the day.
  • What is the Royal Vale Elementary Music Program?
    The Home & School Association offers afterschool music lessons for students in grades 2-6 who are registered. We currently offer 30-minute one-on-one piano and guitar lessons between 3:45pm - 5:45pm.
  • Which door to use and when

  • What are the Royal Vale Elementary doors?
